About Our Hair

Our hair is root-to-point perfect with 100% cuticle intact. This means our hair extensions are silky to the touch and will remain tangle free as all the cuticles are aligned with no frizzing or matting. Our extensions can be styled, used with straightners and treated as your own hair!

What does Remy mean?
During the 16th, 17th and 18th Centuries the world centre of wig making was France, that is why there are so many French words in the world of wig making. "Remis" is just one such word, from the French verb "remettre" it is the past participle and literally translates as "re-put" or "put back". This broadly describes the process which resulted in the genuine article "remis hair". Today Remi is used as a general term to describe a higher quality of hair extension.

You may also see Remy spelt as "Remi or Remee" - they all mean the same thing.

Whats the difference between Remy and other types of hair?
Our 100% remy hair is the preferred choice for extentionists. Other types of hair include silky straight and synthetic (also known as mono-fibre).

Synthetic hair is a plastic fibre that is coloured and prestyled, it cannot be used with any heating appliance (i.e. straightners, curling tongs). This is often regarded as a very temporary measure- and generally does not give as good a result as human hair.

Silky hair is regarded as the hair that was disgarded during the weft making process of Remy hair. The cuticle of silky hair is usually removed and then coated using a harsh chemical process. Silky hair is often less expensive and after a couple washes it can sometimes matt or frizz.

How do I look after my new hair extensions?
It should be washed using a mild moisturising shampoo and conditioner. A daily leave-in conditioning spray can also help maintain the condition of the hair. A thermal protection should always be used before using heated appliances- treat it as your own hair!

Before shampooing the hair you need to brush your hair using a specialist hair extension brush- these brushes are specially developed to untangle the extensions and prevent matting.

If your extensions are being applied professionaly (and not clip ins) you should take care when immersing it in water- try to tie-up your hair- however tempting it might be to become a mermaid with your new flowing locks!
